Beautiful A G Rider original painting of Sailboats in varying forms of dress on the beach. One boat is at Full sail and there are five painted on the beach all together. The fourth has a figure hauling in the sail lines or netting. It is signed A G Rider in the lower right hand portion of the painting. This never before offered for sale original piece of art was painted by Arthur Grover Rider, California Impressionist Painter, who studied in Spain under Joaquin Sorolla. Rider gave this painting and one other to one of his best friends whom he had met and worked with at the Opera House in Chicago while Rider was studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago. From there Rider went to Spain to study under Sorolla and then returned to the United States and eventually settled in Laguna Beach in California. There he continued to paint and worked for 20th Century Fox and MGM Studios. Arthur Grover Rider stands without comparison as the ultimate practitioner of Impressionist Color Theory.
